What does plankton taste like?

Plankton tastes 'green' and has a slightly salty umami taste. If you are put off by this description, we would recommend the capsules. Do you like it pure? Try the powder!

What is the difference between plankton & other food products?

Plankton stands out for its unprecedented nutritional density. Simply put, this means: a lot of nutrients from a small amount. With just 2 grams of this pure product per day, you can already make a difference.

In addition, it is the natural origin of these five micro and macro algae that makes plankton unique. Where other supplements are often synthetic and contain excessively high doses, plankton is 100% natural and plant-based, without synthetic additives.

Should I take plankton every day?

Of course, nothing is a must! We do recommend a maintenance dose of 2 grams (4 capsules) per day as a supplement to a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Is plankton free of allergens?

As far as we know, our algae are free from allergens.

However, the product may contain traces of fish, shellfish and crustaceans. This is because the algae mix contains 2 types of seaweed that are cultivated in the Oosterschelde (Zeeland).

Is plankton suitable for children and/or during pregnancy/breastfeeding?

Plankton is safe for children. For children up to 10 years, however, we recommend 2 capsules per day. This is partly due to the high iodine content.

For pregnant women and/or during breastfeeding, we recommend that you first discuss this with your doctor, as there is insufficient research into the use of algae during these periods.

Is plankton suitable for people with thyroid disease?

The recommended dosage of Plankton (2 grams, 4 capsules) contains approximately 60% of the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of iodine. This may be a point of attention for people with thyroid disorders.

To limit iodine intake, it may be advisable to skip plankton or reduce the dosage to 1 gram per day (2 capsules). We always recommend consulting your (family) doctor first to make the best choice for your health.
